The Slagle Strategic Group was founded in 1995 by Daniel Slagle. After 5 years of working for a “traditional” CPA Firm, Dan decided he wanted more for himself and his clients. SSG was formed to focus more on consulting – we’re here to educate you about financial matters, empower you to make informed decisions, and help you achieve financial success.

Daniel A. Slagle, CPA

Founder & Managing Member

My name is Dan Slagle, and I am the founder of Slagle Strategic Group. I have been practicing Accounting since 1990 and opened SSG in October 1995. I have an honest, straightforward approach with my clients; I have their best interest in mind and want them to succeed. I enjoy my career every day and helping others along the way is a bonus. I specialize in small business consulting, coaching, compliance, and tax planning.

I enjoy spending time with my family and am the proud father of 2 great daughters and 3 stepchildren, and proud poppy/pop pop to 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters who make me laugh every day.

During my off time, I enjoy outdoor activities with my best companion Brick, my Irish Setter-Poodle, who is always right by my side enjoying the outdoors with me. We enjoy camping with our family, fishing, swimming, and hiking.

Lauren McCord

Director of Operations

Hello, my name is Lauren. After graduating college in 2010, I joined Slagle Strategic Group as a Staff Assistant, being promoted to Staff Accountant in 2012, and most recently to Director of Operations. I assist in providing consulting and financial reporting services, as well as completing Tax Returns, overseeing all bookkeeping, tax compliance, payroll, BWC, and several other departments.

SSG is a great place to work, with a great team, that allows for a true work-life balance. I have three beautiful children, 2 boys and 1 girl, who are all teenagers at Jackson Schools.

My boys both play football and my daughter is enrolled in dance, so we are a very active family! We all enjoy amusement parks and go often throughout the year. I also enjoy relaxing by the pool, camping, kayaking, boating, and running. My fur baby Pierogi, or Rogi, for short, loves to join us in all our outdoor fun!

I have always enjoyed working with the clients and helping their business succeed now and into the future. I enjoy spending time with family, and I am a proud Girl Dad of three wonderful daughters. I’m also now a Boy Grandpa and love spending time with them as well. I also have four grand-puppies.

My wife is also a CPA and we have been married for 35 years. It’s also awesome to share our work experiences and learn from each other.
During my time off, my hobbies are fantasy football and playing pickleball and golf.

I volunteered with the United Way of Stark County to aid low-income individuals file their tax returns while I enrolled at Walsh to gain experience in the accounting field. I worked full time at the Olive Garden overseeing their weekly shipping and receiving and trained numerous employees before my departure upon graduating to pursue my Career in Public Accounting.

I have been applying my knowledge to aid clients with tax planning to help prepare for their unforeseen futures and save on taxes as we navigate this ever-changing tax code. I have always been financially responsible and purchased my first home in Perry Township at the age of twenty.

I enjoy spending time with my Wife and Daughter. When we are not home, we like to visit the National Parks across the county. Meeting new people & absorbing the natural beauty of our county. Having grown up in rural Coshocton County, raising horses and other farm animals, naturally we are animal people and have two dogs, a beagle mixed breed and Husky who keeps me motivated to go on runs daily.

Hi, I’m Brick. I am our second and biggest Mascot. I’m an Irish Setter-poodle mix and weigh almost 100lbs at just 2 years old. I love being outside (rain or shine), hiking, camping, hunting & boating. I also love my human very much (and wish he didn’t have to work so late during tax season!) Don’t tell Rogi, but Daddy loves me best! Since I am still in training, I am not at the office every day but I hope I can join the Team full-time soon!

Pierogi
Hi, I’m Pierogi, but you can call me “Rogi” for short like my Mommy does. I am SSG’s original mascot since 2019, and while I might be the smaller mascot, I am big in personality! I am a Yorkie mix & just celebrated my 4th birthday. I love laying in the sun and being left alone with my one and only human. Every now and then you can catch me sleeping in my Mom’s office at SSG!
